Week 8 Reading and Writing

Looking Back:
I have gotten a lot better at reading like a writer for my notes and focusing on things that I am using for my storybook and other stories. I might go back and reread the Mahabharata and look for more instances of karma in the lives of other characters since I was primarily focused on Yudhishthira the first time I read it. I am a little behind in the class so I need to do some more extra credit, but I really enjoy the chance to be creative through storytelling in this class.

This picture is from the most recent story I wrote. I chose this picture because I had a lot of fun rewriting the story in a screenplay format incorporating Indian Epic themes into a modern tv show. My storybook is also in screenplay format so I wanted to get some practice. I was going to include a picture from The Good Place but I feel like I use that in a lot of posts so I decided to switch things up.

Looking Forward:
I want to research more about the view of the afterlife in Hinduism. I have a general idea of samsara and moksha are, but I want to know more details so I can write my story accurately. I would love to learn as much as I can about Hinduism while I'm in this class because I have never really learned much about Hinduism in any of my other religious studies courses.
